Manage transactions
When you upload data related to a location, the uploaded data is referred to as a Transaction. The Data Collection tool allows you to organize your transaction files with ease.
Download files
Downloading a data file will show you a summary of the data uploaded and other relevant information such as Plot ID, Location Code, Occurrence Code, Plot Code, and Number, and plot design array values.
1. From the Transactions table, find the transaction whose data file you want to download.
2. On the left side of the row, click Download files ().
3. A pop-up window will appear with your transaction’s location name as the title. Under the leftmost column, click the download icon () to start the download.
4. Once the file has been saved to your local device, click Close on the lower-right corner of the pop-up window.
Delete transactions
Deleting a transaction is permanent and cannot be undone. You do not need to delete a transaction to re-upload your data.
1. From the Transactions table, find the transaction that you want to delete.
2. On the left side of your transaction’s row, click Delete transaction ().
3. A pop-up window will appear with your transaction’s location as the title. This will remind you that deleting your transaction is permanent and cannot be undone.
4. Click Delete if you agree; otherwise, click Cancel.
5. Wait for the page to reload. Your transaction is now deleted.
Export transaction data
Exporting data is useful when you need to see all the operational studies uploaded to the system. The exported file provides a summary of all studies with uploaded data (open transactions). Below are the information available in the summary:
1. From the Data Collection tool, click Export data () found on the upper-right side of the screen and select the desired file format.
2. Save the transaction data to your local device. By default, the file will be named Data Terminal Transactions
View occurrence information
1. From the Transactions table, find the transaction whose data file you want to view.
2. Under the Occurrence Name column, click the name of your occurrence.
3. Wait for the new tab to be directed to the Experiment Manager. Here you can view the experiment’s Basic, Entry, Plot, Protocol, Design Layout, and Crosses (for Intentional Crossing and Cross Parent Nursery experiments only) information.
You may read the Experiment Manager guide for a detailed description of these tabs.
4. You can go back to the Data Collection tool by clicking the Experiment Manager heading or closing the window.
Great work! These are the actions that let you manage your transactions in the Data Collection tool. Let’s move on to the last part of the process - conducting quality control.
