Design a template
Each template will be used for various purposes that will require them to have specific formats and information requirements. The Report Designer tool lets you customize your printout templates according to your needs.
Get started
From the Template browser, click the Designer Mode icon () in the left-most column.
2. You will be redirected to the Web Report Designer page. This is where you can add elements and link data to your template.
A. Main Toolbar houses the main commands for the report/template.
B. Menu lets you Save or Add a Data Source for the report/template.
C. Toolbox features report/template elements that you can drag-and-drop to the design surface. You can also scroll down on this area to view more elements.
D. Design Surface comprises the entire area of your report/template.
E. Properties allow you to design how elements on your report/template will look like.
F. Expressions lets you decide how the linked source data will appear on your report/template through the selected elements.
G. Field List allows you to define parameters of your report/template. You can also map the source data to the elements on your Design Surface.
H. Report Explorer works with Properties to let you customize your report/template.

Amazing! Now that you are familiar with the Web Report Designer tools, you can now design your template. Let’s see the section below for a simple example on how to design templates.
Design a template
From the Web Report Designer page, go to (1) Properties > (2) Page Settings > (3) Paper Kind.
Select Custom from the drop-down menu.
Set the margins of your template in the Margins tab.
It is important to set Paper Kind to Custom when customizing the size of your template.
The default unit of measurement is millimeters (mm).
4. Drag and drop elements of your template to the Design Surface from the Toolbox.
Adding a data source
In the Fields tool (), click the upper right icon () to add a data source connection. The data source connection you need to select is the name of the connection you made in the Connections tab.
2. The selected data source connection will show under the Field List column. Click the connection name to show options in the drop-down menu.
3. Click (1) Result > (2) Data. A list of possible data sources for your selected toolbox element will be shown.
4. Add a data source to your selected toolbox element by dragging and dropping it in the same text area.
5. Add Parameters to your data field by clicking .
6. In the Add Parameter modal window, define the parameter name, description, and type. Click OK.
7. You can add more elements and their respective data sources until you complete the information requirements of your template.
Great work! You finished designing your template and linking data sources. You can now proceed to test and finalize your template!
