Create harvest records

After providing the harvest data, you are required to validate it in the Creation tab before you create your germplasm, seed, and package records.

For Intentional Crossing Nursery and Cross Parent Nursery experiments, you may switch the screen to either plot harvest data or cross harvest data by clicking the Switch focus () button. You may also view both screens and create simultaneously by clicking Split View ( ).

Validate harvest data

  1. From the Package creation window, review the provided harvest data that are ready for validation.

Your data can only be validated if it says status:to COMMIT under the Harvest Remarks column. Common errors such as duplicates, or missing values will also be indicated in this column.

  1. Once you’re satisfied with the harvest data, click Commit from the toolbar to validate the data.

  1. A notification will appear stating whether your data was successfully validated. The remarks on the Harvest Remarks column will also change to status:FOR CREATION. You may now proceed with record generation.

Create harvest records

1. From the toolbar, click Create to generate your germplasm, seed, and package records.

2. From the modal window, click Proceed.

Record generation is a background process regardless of the number of records. Wait for the notification in the toolbar to appear.

Clicking on this notification will direct you to the Management tab, where you can view and manage your new records.

 

Complete the harvest

Completing harvest means the required plots or crosses have been harvested thus the changes are considered final.

Make sure that the records are harvested and managed before doing this step.

  1. Click the Complete Harvest button from the toolbar.

  1. In the modal window, type in the occurrence remarks and take note of related information regarding the harvest. Once done, click Proceed.

  1. To verify the updated harvest status, click the occurrence name heading and then the View in Experiment Manager button.

  1. The status is now visible in the Basic tab of the occurrence.

Occurrences will also have the status:harvest completed status in the Experiment Manager main browser.

Great job! You’ve successfully created new germplasm, seed lot, and package records. Although the experiment cycle is complete, the Harvest Manager allows you to perform additional actions after record generation.
