Specify the planting arrangement (Generation Nursery)

After identifying your entries, you may now plan the planting arrangement. This involves adding blocks, assigning entries to them, and managing the blocks. You may skip this step if you plan to design your field layout using KDX.

There are two options available when selecting the blocks' arrangement: Add blocks and Entry order.

  1. Add blocks - allows you to add selected/all entries to each block.

  2. Entry order - enables your planting arrangement in entry order regardless of the number of replicates specified for each entry.

From the Select arrangement subtab, you have the option to choose whether you’re going to add blocks first or arrange the order of your entries. To choose, toggle between Add Blocks and Entry Order.

Note that shifting to a different arrangement will nullify your updates.

Arrangement using Entry Order

Choosing Entry Order allows arranging entries into planting arrangements without assigning blocks and regardless of the number of replicates specified. To choose, toggle on to Entry Order.

  1. On the Entry Order subtab, click Define dimension to update the arrangement information parameters.

  1. Change the no. of rows in block, the no. of columns in block, the starting corner, and the plot numbering order. Once satisfied, click Save.

The no. of entries in block and no. of plots in block are fixed and can’t be changed. The rest of the fields are required to be filled in.
