Search for Traits
Performing a basic search
A basic search lets you find traits using parameters, input lists, or conditions. Let’s start your first basic search!
Search using query parameters
From the Traits tool, locate the Query Parameters section on the upper part of the page.
You may provide the trait variable names that you want to search for. You can enter multiple values separated by commas. You may also use the wildcard (%) symbol if you don’t know the exact variable name (e.g. plant%).
You may also specify the type of data you will be searching for by selecting from the drop-down menu. Data types are character varying (e.g. Type of fertilizer), date (2021-05-04), float (1.5cm), integer (10 seeds), or text.
You only need to provide 1 parameter to search for traits.
Afterward, click Find to execute your query.
Once the results have finished loading, you can manage your results or use additional search parameters.
Search using conditions
From the Query Parameters section, click on Additional Search Parameters > Add Condition.
It will insert a new search parameter that contains the (1) filter type and (2) condition. You may refer to the drop-down below for their value choices.
Afterward, provide the values on the blank field on the right and separate them with commas. You may click the Add Condition button again to add more parameters.
Once satisfied, click Find to execute your search.
Great job! You have successfully performed an additional search.
Remove parameter values
Remove additional search parameters
To remove an additional search parameter, simply click beside the parameter.
Clear all search parameters
If you have multiple parameters filled in, click Reset to clear all the parameters' values. This will also remove your previous search results.
Great job! You have successfully performed a basic search. You can now view your results and create a trait list.
