View search results

Search results show all the trait variables in the system. You can quickly view the trait name/s, data type, usage, level, and status.

You can also view additional information about a specific trait by clicking View trait () under the left-most column. This opens a pop-up window where you can view the general information, property, method, and scale.

Filter and sorting results

1. Filter your results by typing a value in the blank header field. You may use the exact string or the wildcard (%) if you don’t know the exact trait name (e.g. IRRI %).

2. You can also sort your results by clicking the Manage sorts button () on the results browser toolbar.

3. Wait for the modal window to open. Here you can add a sorting condition by clicking Add Column.

4. From the drop-down menu, select the column you want to sort and whether you want it to be sorted in ascending or descending order.

5. You can remove your sorting parameters by clicking Clear All.

6. You can also save your current sorting parameters for future searches. To do so, click Save on the left side of the pop-up window. Provide a name for the sorting parameters and click Save.

7. Once satisfied, click Apply on the lower right.

Great job! You have successfully managed your results. Finally, let’s create your trait list!

Create a saved trait list

A saved trait list allows you to choose and save traits to use for future experiments. Here is how you create one!

1. Locate the desired variables from the search results.

2. Tick the checkboxes of the variables that you want to add to your list.

3. At the top of the Search Results Viewer, click Save as new list () to add the selected records.

4. Once you’ve made sure your list contains all your desired records, the final step is to save it!

5. From the modal window, provide a name for your new list.

6. Click Submit to finish saving your list. You can now access this list when you create an experiment.
