As studies are conducted and finished every season, knowing the availability of seeds is essential for a breeder. The Seed Search tool allows breeders to:

  • find available seeds;

  • save their search parameters for future use;

  • review their results;

  • add, remove, and rearrange records in the Working List; and

  • save a Working List as a Saved List to be used in future experiments.

For convenience, the Seed Search is already incorporated into different EBS tools (e.g. Experiment Creation). This user guide, however, is focused on how to utilize Seed Search as a stand-alone tool.

Let’s get you started!

Get Started

1. From the dashboard, open the Left Navigation by clicking Show left nav () found on the left of the Top toolbar.

You may also use the shortcut Alt + L to open the Left Navigation.

2. Once the Left Navigation is open, click Seed Search.

The two other search options - Germplasm and Traits - are similar tools with respective user guides.

Great job! You can now see and use the Seed Search tool. Let’s orient you on the tool’s key sections: the search parameters, query results viewer, and working list browser.

(1) The Search Parameters occupy the upper section of the tool. This is where you can perform basic and additional queries for seeds. You can expand and collapse this section by clicking on the white header

(2) The Results Viewer occupies the lower part of the tool. This is where the results of your search will be displayed. You can filter your results or manage your search results by accessing the Working List browser.

(3) The Working List Browser can be accessed by clicking Working List ((blue star)) from the Results Viewer section. This is where you can create a new seed list from your selected search results.

Next Step

Now that you’re familiar with the sections of the tool, let’s search for seeds!
