  1. COVID General Information:

    1. Mexico has no special vaccination requirements for entry. Numbers have reduced in Mexico, however, SOPs continued to be encouraged (Mask at all times, wash hands, Sanitize your hands all the time). There are no mandatory quarantine requirements in place.

  2. On arrival-Immigration and Customs

    1. On arrival in Mexico City Airport, the Immigration Officer will stamp your passport; please review the dates corresponding to your travel itinerary.

    2. Please bring your invitation letter and travel itinerary printed.

    3. The customs officials may ask you questions and can ask anyone to open their bags for an inspection. Therefore, please bring Doctor’s prescriptions on letterhead for all medications that you have in your luggage other than aspirin or “over the counter” products.

  3. Local Transportation:

    1. CIMMYT will provide airport pick-up and drop-off services based on your flight information. The CIMMYT driver will carry a CIMMYT logo for easy recognition. The CIMMYT driver will take you to your accommodation.

  4. Accommodation/Meals:

    1. Your accommodation has been booked in CIMMYT’s housing area 

    2. The cafeteria is open for breakfast from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m., for lunch from 12:00 to 2:30 p.m., and for dinner from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. except on weekends when meal service typically stops by 2:00 PM. The cafeteria has a vegetarian option every weekday and usually offers some vegetarian food on the weekends, too.

  7. Reimbursement Guidelines (For Sponsored Participants)

    1. After completing your travel, please submit via email to Rosalba Delgado at r.d.sanchez@cgiar.org 1. one invoice in United States Dollars (USD) per CGIAR Center/Organization with the relevant receipts attached to it and  2. a completed banking information form ( download at Beneficiary Banking Detail ) Please address the invoice to CIMMYT, Carretera México-Veracruz Km. 45, El Batán, Texcoco, México.

    2. If your Center/Organization receives regular support from the EiB Platform, reimbursements will be clustered on a 3-monthly basis to reduce transfer fees, otherwise, they will be made immediately.

    3.  Please ensure you keep all the receipts for any expenses you might incur during your trip. CIMMYT/EiB can only process reimbursements based on receipts.
