EBS Participants Travel Guide

Destination: IRRI, Los BaƱos , Philippines

Before Departure:

  1. Prepare your important travel documents

    5. Proof of vaccination or vaccine certificate

    6. Travel Insurance Certificate is not required but it is encouraged that you secure a copy(pdf or printed) with you.

  2. Register to https://etravel.gov.ph/ 2days before your flight. Save a screenshot of your registration (with background color green or red) as well as the provided eTravel QR Code.

    1. eTravel registration is FREE OF CHARGE and does not collect or require any form of online payment. BEWARE of fake, fraudulent, or scam websites and entities which require payment upon registration.

    2. eTravel is an online platform and therefore can only be used when you have internet access. It is highly recommended to use eTravel while you have good and stable internet connection.

    3. You may only register within 3 days (or 72 hours) prior to your arrival in the Philippines. Travelers are enjoined to present their proof of valid eTravel registration prior to flight boarding. It is important that your recent declaration of health condition is within 72 hours before arrival.

    4. You can print this for presentation at airport/seaport of origin and upon arrival in the Philippines. Yet again, for your convenience, you may as well take a screenshot or click download to save your eTravel personal QR code in your smartphone for presentation at the airport/seaport and upon arrival in the Philippines.

    5. If it happens that the system did not provide you a QR code or you lost it in between the flight, please present the screenshot of the final prompt it will provide with a background green or red. If you lost your screenshot, please approach the immigration officer in Manila(NAIA) to manually assess you.

Upon Arrival (Manila International Airport/NAIA)

  1. When passing through a thermal body scan, remove your eyeglasses and cap. (as per the latest news)

  2. Present your eTravel personal QR code

  3. Vaccine is

    1. FULLY VACCINATED (Filipino and Foreign Travelers)

      • No pre-departure COVID-19 Test requirement - Must have received the 2nd dose in a 2-dose series or a single dose COVID-19 vaccine more than fourteen (14) days prior to the date and time of departure from the country of origin/port of embarkation.

    2. UNVACCINATED or PARTIALLY VACCINATED (Filipino and Foreign Travelers)

      1. Travelers 15 years and older shall present a remotely supervised/laboratory-based Rapid Antigen Test administered and certified by a healthcare professional in a healthcare facility, laboratory, clinic, or other similar establishment taken 24 hours prior to the date and time of departure from country of origin/first port of embarkation in a continuous travel to the Philippines, excluding lay-overs; provided that, he/she has not left the airport premises or has not been admitted into another country during such lay-over. 2. Travelers 15 years and older who fail to present negative pre-departure testing shall be required to undergo a laboratory-based Antigen Test UPON ARRIVAL at the airport. 3. ACCOMPANIED minors below 15 years of age who are NOT VACCINATED for any reason whatsoever shall follow the quarantine protocols of their parent/s or an accompanying adult/guardian traveling with them. 4. UNACCOMPANIED minors below 15 years of age who are NOT VACCINATED for any reason whatsoever shall follow the protocols set forth in Section B (1) and (2) above.

  4. DO NOT RIDE in other transportation. There is an assigned IRRI transportation waiting for you in the airport. Look for IRRI placard or poster. There is also an IRRI booth when you turn left by the exit.

  5. The wearing of mask is highly recommended but not fully required.

NOTE:- Any inbound traveler, whether Filipino or Foreign national, who shall test positive for COVID-19 through rapid antigen test shall be subjected to the latest prevailing quarantine and isolation protocols of the DOH.

Upon Arrival in IRRI

  1. When inside the building, transportation, or inside the clinic wearing of facemask is highly recommended but not fully required.

  2. Implement 1-meter distancing as practically possible

  3. No post-travel testing is required inside the campus.

  4. Ask the driver to assist you to IRRI Dormitory Frontdesk. Ask for Ms Arlyn Jimena <a.jimena@irri.org> or Front Desk <frontdesk@irri.org>. They should provide you with the following:

    1. ID pass as Building door key

    2. Room Keys

    3. ID pass should also have access to IRRI GYM

  5. IRRI Driver and front desk attendant will take you to your room in IRRI MSS dorm building.

  6. Welcome snack and toiletries should be available in your room. Kindly ask the frontdesk if you need assistance in your accommodation.

  7. Home Quarantine is not required.

  8. Donā€™t forget to sanitize or wash your hands.

When in Los BaƱos

  1. Shuttle service is available

  2. There is a nearby supermarket.

    1. South Supermarket. Ride a shuttle going to UPOU. Big store across the main highway.

    2. Robinsons Supermarket
