User Type

General Role (EBS Role)

Description

Non-Member

Collaborator

(e.g., Collaborator)

They are partners and users from research or private institutions who require some level of access to experiments.

Access:

  • Experiment Manager: View, map, and download experiments

  • Data collection: Upload data collection files, perform QC

  • Traits: View traits, create trait lists

Limitation:

  • Access is limited to the aforementioned EBS features and tools

Data Collector

(e.g., Data Collector)

They are partners and users assigned to collect field data.

Access:

  • Field Book: Import and export occurrences, collect data

  • Data Collection: Upload data collection files, perform QC

Limitations:

  • Access is limited to the aforementioned EBS features and tools

Lab Manager

(e.g., Lab Leader, Lab Member)

They are users from shared services like genotyping laboratories, shipments, and other cross-cutting operations.

Access:

  • Genotyping Service Manager

  • Batch Manager

  • Shipment Tool

Limitation:

  • Access is limited to the aforementioned EBS features and tools

Member

Team Member

(e.g., CB User, Unit Member)

They are users who create and manage experiments belonging to a certain breeding program.

Access:

  • Most of the Core Breeding tools and features

  • All Breeding Analytics tools and features

  • Request Manager: create and submit genotyping requests

  • Shipment: create and submit shipment requests

Limitation:

  • No access to admin features and tools in Core Breeding and Service Management

  • No access to Core System tools

Program Admin

(e.g., Unit Leader, Admin)

They are users who, in addition to activities performed by team members, organize data and perform admin-specific tasks.

Access:

  • All EBS Domains

Admin

Instance Admin

(e.g., Data Manager)

They are users who oversee all EBS experiments and the database.

Access:

  • All EBS Domains
