After identifying your parents, you may now plan the arrangement of your entries. This involves adding blocks, assigning entries to them, and managing the blocks.

There are two options available when selecting the blocks' arrangement: Add blocks and Entry order.

  1. Add blocks - allows you to add selected/all entries to each block.

  2. Entry order - enables your planting arrangement in entry order regardless of the number of replicates specified for each entry.

From the Select arrangement subtab, you have the option to choose whether you’re going to add blocks first or arrange the order of your entries. To choose, toggle (blue star) between Add Blocks and Entry Order.

Note

Note that shifting to a different arrangement will nullify your updates.

Arrangement using Add Blocks

Choosing Add Blocks allows arranging entries by blocks and sub-blocks to different planting arrangements. To choose, toggle (blue star)to Add Blocks.

Add Blocks

You may add or remove your nursery blocks and sub-blocks in the Add Blocks subtab. This is where you will assign your entries and arrange their planting arrangements later on.

1. Specify the number of blocks you wish to add. Then, click Add.

2. Under the No. of sub-blocks column, specify the number of sub-blocks in each block as necessary. You can delete a block if needed by clicking on the (blue star) beside each row.

3. Once satisfied, click Continue. You’ll be notified that you have successfully added blocks and will be redirected to the Assign entries subtab.

The Assign Entries subtab is where you assign entries to your blocks. It has three sections: (A) Filter entries, (B) Entries, and (C) Working List.

1. Click on Filter entries to specify your filters for your entries you wish to assign to a block. You can choose from range, entry role, parent type, germplasm name, and description. After that, clickSubmit.

Filtering entries is not required, but you are encouraged to use it. By default, all of the entries are loaded in the Entries section.

2. The Entries section will show the filtered results or your whole entries. You may also specify the number of the entries' replicates in No. of Reps column.

Info

You may also bulk update the number of reps by selecting the entries and clicking (blue star).

3. Tick the (blue star) of the entries you wish to add and assign to your blocks then click Manage Entry Reps.

4. The Working List section will reflect the entries you’ve added. Tick the (blue star) of the entries you wish to assign to a block. Click Add to Block to add the entries to a block.
