Amazing! Now that you are familiar with the Web Report Designer tools, you can now design your template. Let’s see the section below for a simple example on how to design templates.

Design a template

  1. From the Web Report Designer page, go to (1) Properties > (2) Page Settings > (3) Paper Kind.

  2. Select Custom from the drop-down menu.

  3. Set the margins of your template in the Margins tab.

It is important to set Paper Kind to Custom when customizing the size of your template.

The default unit of measurement is millimeters (mm).

4. Drag and drop elements of your template to the Design Surface from the Toolbox.

Adding a data source

  1. In the Fields tool ((blue star)), click the upper right icon ((blue star)) to add a data source connection. The data source connection you need to select is the name of the connection you made in the Connections tab.

The Add Data Source icon will only be visible if your template is already linked to a connection.

2. The selected data source connection will show under the Field List column. Click the connection name to show options in the drop-down menu.

3. Click (1) Result > (2) Data. A list of possible data sources for your selected toolbox element will be shown.

4. Add a data source to your selected toolbox element by dragging and dropping it in the same text area.

5. Add Parameters to your data field by clicking ➕.

6. In the Add Parameter modal window, define the parameter name, description, and type. Click OK.

7. You can add more elements and their respective data sources until you complete the information requirements of your template.

Great work! You finished designing your template and linking data sources. You can now proceed to test and finalize your template!
