titleShipment Manager

Management of shipment transactions is improved.

This version enhances user experience in the Basic Information and Items tabs of shipment transactions that are not intended for genotyping service requests (Request No-GSR). Permitted users can access the Request No-GSR option in the left navigation menu and choosing Shipment Outgoing IRRI/CIMMYT.

Specifically, you can now:

  1. View notifications when imported list is empty. In the Items tab, an error message is now displayed when you import an empty package list from Core Breeding. The error message also contains instructions on how to correct the error.

  1. Add more important details. This update can be accessed in the Shipment Outgoing CIMMYT option. The following data fields are now available so you can specify pertinent details of your shipment transaction: Shipment Purpose, Seed Treatment, Account for Seed Health Testing Costs, and Account for Shipment Costs.

  1. The correct institution is now reflected for a requestor, and

  2. Pre-selected sender, requestor, and recipient names are disbaled.

New informative statuses are provided.

Breeders can now view a new set of request statuses that provide more information on the progress of genotyping result files. These statuses are also accompanied by notifications ((blue star)). The following are featured:

  1. Status

    . This means that the lab manager has already uploaded the genotyping results file sent by the vendor.

  2. Status

    titlefile processing ongoing
    . This denotes that the file is currently being processed in Gigwa.

    . This lets you know that a valid genotyping results file have been successfully processed in Gigwa. The file also becomes available for download ((blue star)) from the data browser.

    . This means that the uploaded vendor file did not pass the validation requirements set up in Gigwa.

The following enhanced features were implemented:

  1. Renamed columns. Several columns were renamed to improve consistency across data browsers. The list below provides the old and new column names and locates where the changes are reflected:

    3. View ((blue star)) Request: Germplasm Owner → List Creator

File validation is improved.

This version enhances on the file validation processes in Gigwa, where the vendor result files are stored. These files are uploaded by lab managers using the upload icon ((blue star)) in the data browser. Successfully uploaded files will also be downloadable from the Request Manager. On the other hand, error messages are provided to inform users of any invalid parts in the vendor file.

Service column is renamed.

To improve consistency across data browsers, the 'Service' column is now labeled as Marker Group. You can find this change in 1) the data browser, and 2) when viewing ((blue star)) details of a request in a batch.


Bug fixes

You can expect no error with auto-generated batch names.

Marker group creation is enabled.

Click on the Create Marker Group button on the toolbar. A new page is loaded where you can provide the details of your marker group including its basic information and markers panels. Save the changes. You can also edit the details and contents of a previously saved marker group via the Edit ((blue star)) icon on the data browser or the Edit button as you view ((blue star)) the contents of the marker group.

titleNon-Genotyping Service Requests

Outgoing & incoming shipment process is now supported.

This feature allows users to send out materials to requestors. From the domain dashboard, click the Non Genotyping Service Request (No-GSR) button and choose Shipment Outgoing CIMMYT or SHM Incoming Seed from the drop-down menu. On the toolbar, create a New request. A new page loads to display the workflow and the Basic Information form that you need to fill-out. Click Next to save the transaction as

Modification data is now displayed.

The new

transaction status is displayed in the data browser after a submitted request is edited. Additionally, new columns for the Modification Timestamp and Modifier is also shown for reference. In this version, the former only reflects the date of modification.


Selected traits are now displayed.

When viewing ((blue star)) a genotyping request’s details, the selected trait/s are now displayed as well. This includes data on the trait, category, marker panel, and vendor.


[ADMIN] Customize status labels.

Data managers can now create or revise status labels directly from the database.

The Trait data field was correctly removed from the required fields to populate in the Services tab.

New notifications are provided when you create a batch with more than or less than 10,000 samples. This lets you know that the batch is being created in the background.

Marker groups and markers are now organized in a data browser. It supports basic functionalities, such as column filtering and action icons ((blue star), (blue star), (blue star)). A toolbar is also featured to provide entry points to other parts of the tool. Previously, users were directed to the marker creation page after navigating to the tool.

Management of shipment transactions is improved.

The following enhanced features were implemented:

  1. Auto-generated shipment names. In the Basic Info tab, sequence numbers are now featured at the end of each auto-generated shipment names.

  1. Item list. When deleting ((blue star)) shipment item/s in the middle of the list, the sequence of the items are automatically reset to reflect correct numbering. This improvement is available when you edit ((blue star)) a shipment transaction in the Items tab.

  1. Replace package. In the Items tab, select an entry. Click the Update button in the toolbar and choose to replace package. In the modal window, click Next to proceed with selecting a replacement package. A replacement summary is also provided before you Confirm the changes. In this version, only the program, experiment year, and experiment type are the supported parameters.

  1. Import package list. This new button lets you add shipment items directly from Core Breeding or by uploading a CSV file using the template provided via this button. You also have the option to add the new items at the beginning or end of an existing list.
