Core Breeding

Inventory Search

  • The text field is disabled when searching for package records using Input List in Inventory Search unless the user defines the field type from the dropdown menu.

  • The tool can only add up to 40,000 items to the working list. If users exceed this limit, a pop-up message will notify them.

Inventory Manager

  • Regular EBS users can now access the Update tab of the Inventory Manager tool. However, they are limited to uploading package information in the tool, specifically the following: package status, package quantity, package unit, and facility.

Experiment Creation

  • The germplasm state column is now visible when users add entries under the Entry List tab in the Experiment Creation tool.

If the column is not visible, users can add it by clicking the (blue star) Personalized grid settings button from the toolbar.

  • Users can also assign entries as spatial checks. They can select the option by assigning them as checks under the entry type column and then as spatial checks under the entry role column.

  • For Breeding Trial experiments, a warning message will display in the Design tab when users create changes to their entry list. Users will be reminded to repeat randomizations after adding changes.

  • An error icon will be displayed in each parameter set if there is an error during randomization. Hover to the (blue star) error icon to view the message.

Experiment Manager

  • The experiment designs can now be seen per occurrence under the Design column. Users can easily locate the occurrences and their respective designs created using the new interface of the Experiment Creation’s Design tab.

  • The Contact Person column displays the names of contact persons from the Contact Relationship Management (CRM) tool under the Core System domain. This means users can only see the names saved in the EBS records.

  • Users cannot replace an entry if at least one plot from the occurrence was harvested. A pop-up message will appear to remind them of this limitation.

  • The updated toggle description will remind users that they can replace suppressed and bad data with NA when downloading metadata and plot data and occurrence data collection files.

  • Users can now edit occurrence information simultaneously under the Occurrence tab. They can (blue star) toggle right to All to display all occurrences under the experiment and edit their information.

Data Collection

  • Sensitive information such as pedigree and synonym is hidden when viewing the germplasm information in the Field Book app.

Harvest Manager

  • For soybean non-selfing cross harvest, the cross names will have the TGx (Tropical Glycine Max) prefix.

  • The germplasm type column is visible when users add plot harvest data in the Harvest Manager tool under the Harvest Data tab.

  • On the other hand, the plot code column is visible under the Management tab.

  • If the columns are not visible, users can check the (blue star) Personalized grid settings button and add them to the browser.

Breeding Analytics

Several UI improvements can now be observed in the Analysis Request Manager (ARM) and Phenotypic Data Manager (PDM) tools.

Analysis Request Manager

  • Users can (blue star) Refresh the ARM’s main browser to update the status of the generated analysis results. The button can be seen at the upper right part of the page.

  • Error messages for requests with CANCELED and ERROR statuses can now be viewed by hovering on the status beside the request.

  • Paginations are the page numbers at the bottom of the data browser that help users navigate the list of transactions in a tool. When browsing for requests, at most 10 page links is now be provided on the page navigation menu.

  • Basic audit details, including the creator, last modifier, and the dates of changes, are now displayed in the browser for easy reference.

Phenotypic Data Manager

  • When users add comments while saving the transaction in the Phenotypic Data Manager, they can view them by hovering on the (blue star) Notes icon in the Trait Table’s toolbar.

  • The Close Transaction checkbox is removed from the Save transaction modal window. Instead, users can check the updates from Core Breeding to review the data without reloading the transaction.

  • When viewing occurrences via the Experiment Manager tool or the PDM data browser, a pop-up message is now displayed when the occurrence has no collected plot trait data.

The pop-up window includes instructions on how you can troubleshoot the issue.

  • The Stats Table houses summary information on the computed statistics from an occurrence’s collected numerical plot trait data. The Stat Table’s column headers are now intact so that it is still viewable when scrolling through rows of data.

  • The Trait Table contains the individual plot trait data of an occurrence. Pin or Unpin header/s in the Trait Table to freeze specific column/s.

  • A Scatterplot graph is one of the four data visualizations available in the PDM tool, which visualizes the relationship between two traits. Multiple scatterplot graphs can now be displayed in the workspace.

Service Management

Request Manager

  • The marker groups per request are now visible on the Request Manager’s main page under the Marker Groups column.

  • When a batch is deleted in Batch Manager, the requests where it belongs will have the status reverted from DESIGN GENERATED to APPROVED. The batch information will be removed and changed to “Not Applicable”.

The status change can also be seen in Genotypic Request Manager’s main page.

  • The options under the purpose, trait category, and trait fields are arranged in ascending order to easily manage services while sending a request.

Genotypic Request Manager

  • When creating a batch from Genotypic Request Manager, the markers and assays will be automatically chosen for fixed Marker Groups, and the selection feature will be inactive and unavailable.

  • A paginated view will be used to display markers and assays, with the first 10 items shown initially. Users can access additional items by moving to subsequent pages.

Batch Manager

  • The Batch Manager’s main page now displays the batch status under the Status column. Moreover, the (blue star) Delete icon is visible for batches with DESIGN GENERATED status.

  • When viewing or updating the request/s in a batch, the marker groups will be displayed under the Requests tab.

  • Aside from that, the service provider and technology fields are disabled for editing after creating the batch. This can be observed in the Service & Technology tab.

MarkerDB

  • The Trait Category, Trait, and Marker Group Name columns are now sorted in ascending order by default in the Marker Groups tab.

  • The (blue star) View, (blue star) Edit, and (blue star) Delete icons are visible and enabled in the Marker Groups, Markers, and Allele tabs.

  • Lab managers can download an accurate offline copy of the markers belonging to a marker group, including its associated data by clicking the (blue star) dDownload CSV button on the right side of the data browser.

  • The system will display an error message if you attempt to create a marker group name that is already in use.
