Germplasm names and name types
A germplasm can have multiple names stored in EBS. It can have a local name, genebank name, cross name, or more. Name types describe the category or the source of the germplasm name.
The names and name types differ per crop and adhere to established "business rules" set forth by research institutes, genebanks, governments, and other authoritative organizations.

Germplasm attributes
Germplasm attributes are distinctive characteristics that define the genetic material of each crop's germplasm. Some examples of these attributes are Heterotic Group, Grain Color, Growth Habit, Cross Number, and DH First Increase Completed.
