Upload collected data

To save recorded data for a specific occurrence (plot) or cross list (cross), users must upload the plot or cross data collection file to the data browser.

  1. Click Upload > Plot/Cross Data.

  1. In the Data Collection Upload page, click Browse and select the file with the collected trait data.

If users upload data from other data collection software, select More File Upload Options and upload the file. The Experiment Manager accepts uploading of trait data from Field Book, KSU Inventory, Easy Harvest, and Moisture Meter 1.

  1. Click Upload.

If users encounter an error while uploading, click Remove to delete the file and re-upload. Meanwhile, if they are trying to upload data for an occurrence that already has data uploaded, it will overwrite the existing data with the latest upload.

  1. Once approved, the Data Collection page opens with the uploaded trait data. The uploaded data is now visible in the Transactions table.

Upload plot data from multiple experiments and occurrences

It is also possible for users to upload plot data from more than one occurrence and experiment. They will need to compile the data collection results in one file before uploading them. Refer to the dropdown for the instructions.

  1. Click Upload from the toolbar, then select Multiple Occurrence Plot Data.

  1. Drag and drop the data collection file into the modal or click Browse.

  2. Click Upload. The Data Collection data browser will open with the uploaded transaction.

  1. The Occurrence Name column will display the occurrences with the collected plot trait data. Users can then manage the transaction or conduct quality control.

The Location Name column displays the first location from the first occurrence. This is a current limitation set in the tool, but this does not remove the recorded location names of other occurrences.

  1. Click Upload from the toolbar, then select Multiple Occurrence Plot Data.

  1. Drag and drop the data collection file into the modal or click Browse.

  2. Click Upload. The Data Collection data browser will open with the uploaded transaction.

  1. The Occurrence Name column will display the occurrences with the collected plot trait data. Users can then manage the transaction or conduct quality control.

The Location Name column displays the first location from the first occurrence. This is a current limitation set in the tool, but this does not remove the recorded location names of other occurrences.

Upload from other data collection apps

Users can now upload data collection files from Hiphen (time-series data) and Intercross (crossing data), and images from Field Book. See the following dropdown menus for details:

Upload time-series data

Users can also upload time series data for multiple occurrences, but they must first collate the results into a single file before uploading.

  1. In the Data Collection browser, click the dropdown next to the Upload button and select Hiphen Time Series Plot Data.

Users can download the Time Series Plot Data Template from the Experiment Manager to manually record time-series data. Click the Download button beside the occurrence and select the said template.

  1. Click Browse to upload the file or drag it into the modal window.

  1. After checking the file, click Upload.

  1. The system will automatically commit the uploaded time-series data, as highlighted by the committed status.

Users can export the committed time-series data by clicking the Download files icon beside the transaction.

  1. The occurrence will also have the updated status of time series uploadedtime series quality checked.

Upload Intercross data

  1. Click Upload > Intercross Data. This opens the modal for uploading the file.

  1. Drag and drop the file or click Browse to locate it.

  2. Once done, click Upload. The file will be saved in the Data Collection tool.

  1. The system will automatically commit the uploaded Intercross data, as highlighted by the committed status.

Users can export the committed Intercross data by clicking the Download files icon beside the transaction.

Upload Field Book images

Before uploading the images, users must manually transfer them from the Field Book to their local devices.

  1. From the Data Collection’s data browser, click Upload > Fieldbook Photos. A new page opens where users can upload the images.

  1. Drag and drop the images on the page or click Browse to locate them.

  2. Click Upload. The data browser opens and runs the process in the background.

  1. The system will automatically commit the uploaded images, as highlighted by the committed status.

Users can export the committed transaction by clicking the Download files icon next to the transaction.
