Export

Export feature allows users to seamlessly transfer occurrence data from the mobile app to the EBS system, enabling easy validation through a web browser. Currently, data can only be exported by occurrence, so it's important to sync the occurrence data regularly to keep everything up to date.

Sync occurrence data

  1. Go to Export.

  2. Under the Observation section, check if there are any New Observations. Click Export button.

  3. A message prompts BrAPI Export Successful.

If images were recorded in the Field Book app, users must transfer them manually to their devices and upload them to the Data Collection tool. Refer to the dropdown menu for the specific instructions.

Transfer images from Field Book

All images recorded in the Field Book are saved in the app's folder on the mobile device. The folder location varies by device, so users should locate it before proceeding.

  1. After clicking the Field Book folder, select plot_data.

  2. Locate the folder named after the occurrence.

  3. Then, select the trait name where the images are stored (e.g., PHOTO TRAIT).

  4. Depending on the phone settings, select one or more images to transfer to desktops, laptops, or any device that supports EBS. Here are some ways to transfer images.

  • Copy them to cloud storage providers like OneDrive, SharePoint, or Google Drive. Then, export the images to the local device.

  • Transfer them using USB cables or Bluetooth.

Ensure that the images have the file format of <PLOT_ID><VARIABLE_ABBREV><TIMESTAMP>.<FILE_EXTENSION>​. Otherwise, an error occurs during upload.
