Field is a feature within Field Book that enables users to select occurrences and store them directly on their mobile devices. Once configured, review the list of traits and proceed to data collection.
Import occurrences
Go to Field.
In the upper-right corner of the app, click the BrAPI Field Import icon.
In the upper-right corner, click the
ellipse icon, then select Filter by Program.
Click the program with the occurrence, then click Select program button.
Use Prev and Next as pagination if the occurrence in not in the current view.
Select the occurrence, then click Preview Field.
A prompt will appear showing the occurrence’s basic information.
Verify that the total number of traits matches the number of variables for occurrence data collection. If not, do not proceed and go to EM and set up trait protocols.
On the Primary identifier, select ObservationUnitDbId.
On the Secondary identifier, select ObservationUnitName.
Click Save.
Once done, the occurrence will appear in the Fields view.
If images are included for data collection, here are the conditions before collecting photos in the Field Book app.
The trait to be used must be available in EBS with the Data Type of image.
Make sure that it is added to the trait protocols before importing the occurrence.
Select occurrences for data collection
Go to Field.
Select the Occurrence for data collection.
Go back

Go to Collect.
