Create germplasm records and relations

Create new germplasm records
Download germplasm record template
Click Template, then Germplasm. The germplasm template will be saved to the local drive.
After creating new germplasm details in the CSV template, users can then upload them to the Create tab.
The headers in the germplasm file vary per crop program (e.g., varying germplasm attributes per grain crop). Contact the EBS data managers to know more about the germplasm details to be included in the template.
Upload and validate new germplasm records
Click Upload, then select Germplasm. The Germplasm File Upload modal opens after.
Click Browse to select the file, or drag and drop the file into the modal.
After attaching the appropriate file, click Validate to queue the transaction data for verification.
Once the system validation is complete, the File Status column updates according to the upload status. If it has the validated status, click the Complete file upload transaction icon to finalize.
Check the infographic on the Germplasm - Create statuses for the meaning of each status.
In the Germplasm Records view, review the validated details carefully, then click Complete once all information is confirmed accurate.
The number of germplasm records will be displayed in the modal. Click Proceed to confirm the creation.
The speed of the record creation process depends on how many germplasm records will be uploaded.
The File Status column will update to completed, indicating that the germplasm details have been successfully created.

Download germplasm relation template
Click Template, then Germplasm relation. The germplasm template will be saved to the local drive.
After creating new germplasm relations in the CSV template, users can then upload them to the Create tab.

In the Create tab, click Upload, then choose Germplasm relation.
Click Browse to select the file, or drag and drop the file into the modal.
After attaching the appropriate file, click Validate to queue the transaction data for verification.
Once the system validation is complete, the File Status column updates according to the upload status. If it has the validated status, click the Complete update icon to finalize the transaction.

A preview of the records to be created will be shown in the browser. Click Complete.

Delete transaction
Click the Delete file upload transaction icon beside the transaction.
The trash icon will only appear beside germplasm records or relations that have not yet been used as entries in experiments and that have no existing seed, package, or relation records.
Click Confirm to delete the germplasm upload transaction in the system.
