Users may skip this entire part to sync their occurrences from EBS to Field Book and directly collect trait data using the Breeding API integration. Refer to this user guide for the complete steps.
Download data collection template
Although other data collection tools are available, it is recommended to use the Field Book app by PhenoApps (only compatible with Android devices) to ensure consistent and accurate data collection.
Click Download files beside the occurrence > Trait data collection.
Users can also download data collection templates from KSU Inventory, Easy Harvest, Moisture Meter 1, and Hiphen Time Series Plot Data by following the first step and selecting the available options.
Check the traits added previously. If there aren’t any, select the traits from the Traits or Trait Lists tabs. Refer to the user guide for instructions on updating the trait protocols.
Select the traits and click Export occurrence icon from the toolbar. Then, choose With trait abbreviations (with trait variables added as columns in the template). Supply the template with the collected trait data.
Download template for multiple occurrences
Before doing this step, make sure the traits are already added to the selected occurrences.
Tick the checkbox beside one or more occurrences.
Click Download files > Trait data collection > Occurrence or Location > With trait abbreviations.
The downloading of files will be generated in the background. Once done, click Notifications to check the downloaded files saved as a compressed file.
Upload collected data
Users may skip this step to upload their collected trait data in the Data Collection tool. Refer to this user guide for the complete steps.
Click Upload > Trait data collection.
On the Data Collection Upload page, click Browse and select the file with the collected trait data.
If users upload data from other data collection software, select More File Upload Options and upload the file. The Experiment Manager accepts uploading of trait data from Field Book, KSU Inventory, Easy Harvest, and Moisture Meter 1.
Click Upload.
If users encounter an error while uploading, click Remove to delete the file and re-upload. Meanwhile, if they are trying to upload data for an occurrence that already has data uploaded, it will overwrite the existing data with the latest upload.
Once approved, the Data Collection page opens with the uploaded trait data. Refer to the user guide on the Data Collection tool to quality check the data.
Upload occurrence data collection
Users need to download the occurrence data collection template and fill up the necessary data before uploading.
Click Upload > Occurrence data collection.
Click Browse or drag the file into the upload field.
After uploading, click Validate.
Finalize the occurrence data by clicking Confirm. The upload process will be delegated to the background. Click the Notifications to check its status.
Check the uploaded data by going to View Occurrence > Basic tab.
Great! What are the next steps?
View the uploaded data collection file and conduct quality checking.
Access other EBS tools from the Experiment Manager.
