After collecting and uploading trait data, breeders have to evaluate them and look for probable outliers and questionable data before sending them for analysis. The Phenotypic Data Manager allows breeders to:

  • View, filter, and sort plot data;

  • View the descriptive statistics of all numeric traits of the active occurrence;

  • Detect possible outliers;

  • Suppress and unsuppress plot data; and

  • Generate box plots, histograms, scatter plots, and heatmaps per trait.

You must first access the Phenotypic Data Manager tool through Experiment Manager in the Core Breeding domain.

Let’s get started!

Get Started

1. From the Experiment Manager browser, select the occurrence for phenotypic data review by ticking the checkbox (blue star) on the leftmost column. Note that the occurrence should have the PLANTEDTRAIT DATA COLLECTED status.

2. In the data browser toolbar, click (blue star) and select Phenotypic Data Manager from the drop-down menu. Note that user can only choose one occurrence to proceed.

3. You will be redirected to the Phenotypic Data Manager page where the data of the chosen occurrence can be viewed. The page is divided into Table, Box Plot, Histogram, Scatter Plots, and Heatmap tabs.

Great job! Now that you are familiar with the Phenotypic Data Manager browser, you can now start evaluating your trait data.
